OSCE Clinical Skills Intensive Package
Overview
This module introduces candidates to the structure, purpose, and expectations of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)—the final stage in AHPRA’s Outcome-Based Assessment (OBA) for internationally qualified nurses. It provides a clear understanding of what the OSCE is, how it is assessed, and how to prepare both mentally and practically for success.
Participants are guided through the Clinical Reasoning Cycle, NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, and the key behaviours that assessors observe during each station—communication, infection control, safety, and professionalism.
Purpose
The purpose of this module is to build a strong foundation for OSCE readiness by aligning clinical performance, critical thinking, and communication with Australian professional standards. It empowers candidates to think systematically, verbalise their reasoning, and demonstrate competence with confidence.
