Last updated 9 October 2026 · OBA Nursing Academy · ABN 38 015 879 575

1. Who this applies to

This code applies to everyone enrolled in an OBA Nursing Academy programme or course, online and in person, including in simulation and clinical skills sessions and on the student Jobs Noticeboard.

2. What you can expect from us

  • Respect, fairness and freedom from discrimination, bullying and harassment
  • Accurate information about your programme, its fees and what it does and does not lead to
  • Fair assessment and timely feedback
  • Privacy for your personal information
  • A fair hearing if you raise a concern

3. Respect for others

  • Treat educators, staff, other learners and simulated patients with courtesy.
  • No bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats or violence, in person or online.
  • Respect cultural difference. Culturally safe practice is a standard for every nurse and midwife in Australia.

4. Academic integrity

  • The work you submit must be your own.
  • Do not copy another person's work, let someone else complete an assessment for you, or share assessment questions or answers.
  • If you use an artificial intelligence tool to help you study, say so where you are asked, and do not submit its output as your own assessment answer.
  • Do not record, copy or share course materials, question banks, simulations or exam content.
  • Your login is for you alone.

5. Honesty in your enrolment

Give us accurate information and genuine documents. Tell us if your details, your registration status or your circumstances change.

6. Simulation and clinical skills sessions

  • Follow the directions of your educator and the safety rules of the venue.
  • Arrive on time, fit to take part, and dressed as required.
  • Use equipment only as shown. Report any injury, hazard or damage straight away.
  • Keep what happens in simulation confidential, including other learners' performance.

7. Online conduct

Use the learning platform, live classes and noticeboard for their purpose. Do not post offensive material, another person's private information, or advertising.

8. If the code is breached

We will tell you what the concern is and give you the chance to respond before any decision is made. Depending on how serious it is, the outcome may be a warning, a requirement to resubmit work, suspension, or cancellation of your enrolment. Refunds after cancellation for misconduct are covered by our Fees, Refund and Cancellation Policy.

You can appeal a decision under our Complaints and Appeals Policy.
